ARTIST STATEMENT
Art speaks where words sometimes fail. I believe that comics, especially manga, provide the perfect space to express emotions and ideas that go beyond language. My work is my way of sharing the raw experiences of life—the crushing weight of trauma, the deep isolation of loneliness, the unexpected joy of friendship, and those lingering thoughts about our existence. Comics let me channel feelings I can’t easily describe into visual stories that invite viewers to connect with my inner world.Working primarily in manga, I blend elements of comedy and drama to create stories that catch people by surprise. For instance, I might follow a character’s moment of profound despair with a quirky scene—like a humorous twist where Death is casually sipping milk—creating a playful contrast that keeps the reader engaged. I strive to break expectations with each panel, hoping that my stories linger in the mind and encourage self-reflection.Ultimately, my art is about connection. I want my comics to serve as a bridge between my personal experiences and the audience’s own emotions, inspiring others to find meaning and comfort in their own lives. My creative practice is a journey of constant discovery, and through my work, I invite viewers to share in that exploration, to laugh, to cry, and to see themselves in the stories I tell.
